Korean Beef Bowls
  • 1 lb. Beef Sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp + 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp Chili Sauce (optional)
  • ½ Onion, chopped
  • 1 cup Carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 Cucumber, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • ½ cup green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 cups Cooked Rice (short grain is best)
  1. First, thinly slice or cube the beef
  2. Then, in a medium sized bowl combine the soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, garlic, brown sugar and chili sauce (optional).
  3. Next, Add the beef and toss to coat. Let marinate.
  4. Heat the remaining sesame oil (or other high-heat oil) in a large pan on medium high heat.
  5. Add the onion and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Next, add the beef. Let cook for a couple minutes on each side. I prefer my meat pink in the middle so 1-2 minutes on each side works for me.
  7. Add carrots and cucumber and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Until they are warm. The veggies should remain crunchy.
  8. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onion
  9. Serve with rice.
