This Insider’s Guide to the Legoland Florida Hotel has everything you need to know to have an incredible stay!
A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to stay and the brand new Legoland Hotel in Florida. It opened in May (2015) and we were thrilled to get to visit during their inaugural summer! Since it’s brand new and most of you haven’t had a chance to stay there, I wanted to do an Insider’s Guide to the Legoland Florida Hotel.
This guide will give you a peak into all the cool features at the hotel and help you with your vacation planning to Legoland. We had the best time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It’s the perfect hotel for all your Lego loving kids!
:: The Attention to Detail is Incredible!
There are Legos everywhere you turn at the Legoland Florida Hotel. The entrance has giant mini figures greeting you and a huge dragon made of tiny bricks. There is also an enormous wall of mini figures behind the check-in desk with some really rare and interesting characters.
:: There are Lego Bricks for Kids Everywhere!
You’ll find Legos for kids to play with at every turn. There’s a box of bricks in your room to play with. Plus, you’ll also find them in the lobby! Your kids can build with bricks and play on the ship while you check-in. The play areas are also visible from the hotel bar so you can sit and have a drink while the kids play.
:: Free Master Classes for Kids!
Every kid that stays at the Legoland Florida Hotel can take a free Master Builder Class. Since these are only open to kids at the resort, they aren’t crowded and are much more personal. It’s also a fun way to take home a memorable souvenir.
:: There are LEGOs in the Pool!
Sure there’s a waterpark inside Legoland but don’t miss a chance to visit the hotel pool. They have soft, oversized Lego bricks floating in the pool. It’s fun for everyone, including the adults. My husband got in on the action too and built boats and buoys and other fun things with the kids! And if you can’t get enough, you can order some for your pool at home…for a pretty penny.
:: There’s a Dance Party in the Elevator!
Once the elevator doors close, the light go out and the disco ball comes on. Have a mini dance party while you wait to get off. This was one of the highlights of the visit for my kids. They loved taking the elevator!
:: All the Room are Built for Kids!
Every room in the hotel is a themed suite with a separate area for kids. The kids side has bunk beds with a trundle as well. They come in varying themes: Pirate, Adventure, Kingdom and Lego Friends. My kids loved our pirate themed room. It was really fun for them to explore and find all the fun pirate details around the room.
:: In-Room Treasure Hunts!
Every room has a treasure box. Look around your room for clues to crack the code that opens the box. Inside, the box is filled with kid friendly treasures. While I’m sure the contents vary by season and availability, ours was spectacular. Inside the boys found the latest Lego Club magazines and catalogs, juice pouches, lanyards, snacks and even two mini Mixels bags.
:: Separate Areas for Parents
The rooms carry their fun themes into the main sleeping area too so even adults feel like one of the kids. However, it’s nice to have your own space where you can watch TV after the kids go to sleep.
:: Start Your Day with Breakfast!
Legoland Florida Hotel includes free breakfast for their guests. First thing in the morning, head over to the Bricks Restaurant for you complimentary breakfast. We were really impressed with the offerings. The breakfast buffet has an omelet station, pancakes and french toast, fresh fruit and so much more. It’s a great way to kick off a long day in the park.
:: Get Early Park Entry!
One of the best perks to staying at the Legoland Florida Hotel is that hotel guests can sneak into the park a half hour earlier than the general public! It’s only 130 kid steps to get from the front of the hotel to the main gates. This makes it easy to get there in the morning and take full advantage of the extra hour.
There are literally too many things to mention in our Insider’s Guide to the Legoland Florida Hotel. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself! We had an absolute ball during our stay a the Legoland Florida Hotel and we were all sad to leave. After our incredible experience at this hotel and park, we are hoping to visit the California park now too. Maybe next summer! Huge thanks to Legoland for letting us be a part of their inaugural summer!
