Baseball season is in full swing here in Texas. Our small town is HUGE on baseball. They start them young with Weeball at 3 years old. Both my boys are playing Weeball this season and my husband coaches their team.
I can’t even begin to tell you how cute it is to see little 3 and 4 year olds trying to bat and field the ball. My 3 year old thinks baseball is football and immediately after hitting the ball, runs and dog piles on the other team trying to field the ball. My 4 year old is loving every minute and has really picked it up.
There are only 6 kids on our team and since 2 of them are mine I have to bring the post-game snack nearly every other week! My kids are pretty picky about what to bring. I tried healthy stuff and Jack, my older one, said that we need awesome snacks. So we compromised. Every game, I bring fruit and a treat. This past week he was beside himself with excitement when I told him that Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies Treats® was going to sponsor our post-game treat!
I mean, what is more synonymous with “treat” than Rice Krispies Treats®!? Now I’m all for making them from scratch but homemade Rice Krispies Treats® would melt in the hot Texas afternoons so I was thrilled when Kellogg’s® sent me a box of the pre-packaged Rice Krispies Treats® for our game. Jack said this was definitely an awesome snack. I wanted to make them baseball themed so I decided to #GetKreative and whip up these cute little wrappers for them.
This couldn’t be easier to do. Since Rice Krispies Treats® come in boxes of 8 and 16 at my store, I made these print 4 to a page so you can print the perfect number for your team. Then wrap them around and attach with tape. I printed on card stock but regular paper would work perfectly too.
And if you are a baseball family like ours this post- game snack is awesome for another reason! Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies Treats®, Major League Baseball® and legendary shortstop Cal Ripken, Jr., are teaming up to help families unlock the fun this baseball season. Be sure to pick up a box of specially-marked Rice Krispies Treats® through July 1, 2015, and enter the promotion code at KFR.com/CatchWithCal for your chance to play catch with Cal Ripken, Jr., during the 2015 MLB All-Star Week. That’s right! You can win a chance to play ball with Cal Ripken Jr. My husband would absolutely die if we won this!
But you don’t need to “Play Catch with Cal” to #GetKreative and enjoy year-round, exciting experiences as a family. For a start, print off these cute little wrappers and use them for your next post-game snack, end of season celebration or baseball birthday party. And check out the Kellogg’s Family Rewards website for more.
