These 5 Must Haves for Busy Sports Moms will help you survive the season and go from pre-season to post-season like a champ!
If you have kids in sports you know it means your afternoons are crazy, hectic and go-go-go. Add in multiple kids and multiple sports and it just gets insane. Add in the dreaded overlap week and it’s a wonder we don’t all lose our minds! You know, that one crazy week where winter sports are still going and spring sports have already begun. You have to be somewhere 5 nights a week and often two places at same time!
If you are anything like me you know it’s important to plan for everything. So today I partnered with Special K to share 5 Must-Haves for Busy Sports Moms. Things to help you get from pre-season to post-season without missing a beat.
#1 | Snacks for Everyone
Let’s face it. Kids on the move are always hungry and moms on the go often forget to eat. That’s why the biggest must-have for busy sports moms is snacks for everyone! I like to keep a bag of snacks in my car, ready to grab-and-go. You never know when practice will run long, a game will go into overtime or getting stuck in traffic prevents you from running home between activities.
Keep a supply of wholesome, delicious snacks like Special K Nourish and Protein Bars and Bites in the car for all your snack needs. The Special K Nourish line is packed with real, visible ingredients that moms and kids will love. The Special K Protein bars and bites deliver the delicious, portable snack options that busy moms need. I can feel good about eating a Nourish bar at practice because not only does it taste great but the wholesome ingredients will keep me going until dinnertime.
#2 | A Mini-First Aid Kid
I always travel with a mini-first aid kit. You never know when your kid or a teammate might need a bandage, an antiseptic wipe, an ice pack or something else. I also keep extra bug spray and sunscreen in mine, in case I forget to apply before we leave. Long days at the ballpark often leave me sunburned so I’m always glad that I have some extra.
#3 | A Carpool Buddy
Make friends with the other moms on the team so you can get some help with the driving. Even if you like to attend every event, it’s nice to have a backup in case you need to be two places at once. Having friends I can rely on to take my boys to practice or games, when needed, has been a godsend.
#4 | A Comfortable Seat
Seriously moms. Invest in a comfortable chair. Baseball and football moms should grab a high quality stadium seat. It will keep your bottom warmer in the cold months and save your back after dozens of double headers and overtime games. Sitting on the sidelines on the soccer field? Get a great lawn chair and maybe even splurge on a canopy tent. For all the hours you spend watching your kids, you should be comfortable!
#5 | A Slow-Cooker
There is nothing more important for active kids than a healthy meal. It’s so tempting to run through a fast food line after a long day of practices. I find my slow cooker is the best weapon in my arsenal. Get your dinner going in the morning after you drop your kids at school. Then it’s hot and ready the second you walk in from practice.
These simple things can help you be the most prepared mom on the sidelines. And remember, no matter how chaotic and stressful these sports seasons are, they go by in the blink of an eye. Someday you’ll have all your afternoons and weekends to yourself again and you just might miss this crazy season of life!
This post is brought to you by Special K Snack Bars and Bites. These new snack offerings deliver great taste and busy moms will love the portability and wholesome ingredients. My favorite were the Blueberry Almond Quinoa Nourish Bites. Made with almond butter, blueberries, quinoa and almonds. They have big flavor and goodness in a poppable bite!
My boys loved the Chocolate Cherry Nut Snack Bars. The fruit and chocolate combination makes them taste great and the 8g of protein keeps my active boys going until dinnertime. When you are preparing for the upcoming sports season, check your local store for the Special K Nourish and Protein Bars and Bites!
